Description

TARTAN 6 is a magnificent 100% wool carded yarn, machine washable. The colors are mottled, tone on tone, bright and deep. The manufacturing principle is inspired by that of SUPER TWEED: the raw wool is dyed in flock , then mixed with unbleached wool, in three different proportions. Each blend is then spun and then twisted. Thus with a single dye bath, three colors are created, consistent and degraded. Along the way, the ecological footprint of the dyeing operations is strongly reduced. TARTAN 6 is a subtle, soft and bulky yarn, assembled in 6 strands, which comes in nearly 40 mottled colors. It is knitted with # 6 needles. TARTAN 6 has a little brother, TARTAN 3, assembled in 3 strands, with the same 39 colours, and which is knitted with # 4 needles.

TARTAN 4 is machine washable at 30 degrees (delicate wool program) with or without softener, without spinning and preferably with drying flat.

TARTAN 6 is also available as 100g undyed, untreated, not degreased, ready-to-dye skeins within the yarn quality TARTAN 6 prêt-à-teindre.
