Description
NABAB is part of the SARI - SULTAN - NABAB family, three recycled silk threads, made in an Indian social workshop partner of Fonty, located in Tamil Nadu, a state in the southern Indian continent. The women workers there transform scraps of saris and unsold saris (magnificent traditional silk fabrics in shimmering colors, which dress Indian women) into long strips of fabric, which are assembled to form variegated ribbons.
The NABAB yarn is made of silk ribbons, with no particular twist. It is an original material that is fun to knit, giving the projects a unique personality, a colorful lightness and an amazing elasticity. The colors are random and vary from skein to skein, most often in soft tones. This thread can be washed by hand, in cold water, with mild soap (Marseille soap, if possible organic), without spinning, drying flat.
Other yarn qualities sharing characteristics with NABAB : BLING-BLING, CLUB 9 MACRAMÉ, CYCLADE, FALÉ, FELLETIN, KIDOPALE, MONGOLIA 5, MOUSTACHE, POLE, SARI, SOYEUSE, SULTAN, SUPER TWEED, TARTAN 6, 1880.
