Summer Open Days
Thursday 20 and Friday 21 July 2023, before the annual summer holidays, at the heart of the school holidays, the Filature Fonty organizes its Summer Open Days ! Come and visit one of the last wool spinning and dyeing factories still in operation in France, walk through the workshops, meet the team and (re)discover the secrets of transforming wool into magnificent knitting yarn.
It is an incredible traditional know-how of spinning and dyeing natural wool that has been maintained and transmitted for 140 years within the small team of Filature Fonty. During these two days, the team welcomes all the enthusiasts and the curious to make them discover the stages, the tools, the gestures, and the traditional productions of this Living Heritage Company (EPV)
Free guided tour « de la toison au fil de laine » are continuously offered on both days, every half hour, from 10:00 a.m.. Duration: approximately one hour.
We will successively discover the mixing, carding, assembly, dyeing, winding and balling workshops.
During the Open House the Filature shop is open from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. Come hunt and stock up on exceptional wools for your next knitwear: yarns from the current Fonty collection, new arrivals, but also yarns from past collections, rarities, original yarns, end of batches or downgraded yarns, all offered at exceptional prices.

If you cannot come this time, the Filature Fonty opens its doors to everyone for two consecutive days on three occasions during the year: at the end of April, at the end of July, and at the end of October.Learn more on the possibility of visiting the Filature Fonty here.
