Spring Open Days 2023
Thursday April 27th and Friday April 28th, 2023, Filature Fonty organizes its Spring Open House! Come and visit one of the last wool spinning and dyeing factories still in operation in France, walk through the workshops, meet the team and (re)discover how animal wool is transformed into a magnificent knitting yarn.
Close-up on the incredible traditional know-how of spinning and dyeing natural wool that has been maintained and transmitted for 140 years within the small team of Filature Fonty. For two days, the Filature Fonty team welcomes all enthusiasts and the curious to help them discover the little secrets, tools, gestures, and traditional productions of this Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV, “Living Heritage Company”).
During the 2 days, departures of free guided tours are offered at 10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Duration: approximately one hour. We will successively discover the mixing, carding, assembly, dyeing, winding and balling workshops.
Also during the 2 days, the factory shop is open from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Come hunt and stock up on exceptional yarns for your next knitwear: yarns from the current Fonty collection, new arrivals, but also yarns from past collections, rarities, original yarns, end of batches or downgraded yarns, all offered at special prices.

If you cannot visit this time, the Filature Fonty opens its doors to everyone for two consecutive days on three occasions during the year: at the end of April, at the end of July, and at the end of October. Learn more about the possibilities of visiting the Filature Fonty here.
