It is an extraordinary traditional know-how of spinning and dyeing natural wool that has been maintained and transmitted for 140 years within the small team of Filature Fonty. This one bends over backwards for two days to welcome visitors, make them discover the secrets, tools, gestures, and traditional productions of this Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV, Living Heritage Company).
Also come and browse in the factory shop and stock up on exceptional wool for your next knits: yarns from the current Fonty collection, new arrivals, but also yarns from past collections, rarities, original yarns, all offered at exceptional prices. . On the occasion of the Open Days, the Filature shop welcomes you from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wearing a mask requested.
Over the 2 days, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., free guided tours are offered, without appointment, with departures every 30 minutes. Duration: approximately one hour. Sanitary pass requested.

At the same time, from Friday 29 to Sunday 31 October 2021 take place in Felletin, a magnificent village of “Plateau de Millevaches”, the Journées Nationales de la Laine (“National Wool Days”), one of the most important events around wool in France. Three days of encounters and discoveries in a relaxed, folkloric and friendly atmosphere. Rougnat, the village where the Filature Fonty is located, is 35 minutes from Felletin by road. The opportunity for all wool enthusiasts and all the curious to kill two birds with one stone!
Filature Fonty will obviously also be present in Felletin.
